Vanguard Chronicles Chapter 1: I take that back, Kai you
Heartless bastard!

The story isn't the same as the show, but you can tell what
it is about from reading this.

NOTE: it starts off from a bit of ep26 to ep 27. Warning!
Contains spoilers, major plot information and it ends IN A CLIFFHANGER!

Also I didn't know what Kai's first name is so I decided to
refer him as "Toshiki"

Again WARNING! This is mostly talking!

When everything
goes wrong<o></o>

Aichi has just awoke from a horrid nightmare, freaky as it
sounds, he dreamt of a red haired man calling to him, Aichi's head was pounding
hard, he could barely grab his new change of clothes his mother left on his
bed. He stared at the double-sleeved white top, navy blue jeans along with his
duelling gloves Shin gave him the time Q4 went to the regional's, they all
fitted perfectly, Aichi had a slight smile on his face

"I don't know how long I'll be at the Nationals, Mother will
be worried, so would I"

Aichi picked up his two decks; one was in a red cover and
the other in a blue cover.

Everything was the same with the group; Misaki was working
out the plans with her uncle, Shin, Kamui fighting over seating in the bus and
Toshiki who just emerged from Card Capital, keeping his cool

"So what happens if we get lost?" Kamui seemed to be in a
good mood today, strangely without his two companions,

"Not to worry, Misaki can remember the whole map just my
looking at it once, right? Misaki?" Shin looked over to the soul faced girl
reading the map, hoping for the right answer

 "Right…"

Kamui suddenly full of energy gets everyone's attention

"Right! I bag window se-"

Kamui was disturbed to see Toshiki sitting the exact spot he
planned to take

"Oi! That's my seat!"

Kamui scolded, Toshiki twisted his head away from him

 "Why?"

"Because I always had the back window seat ever since I was
born!"

"Like I care!"

"Why you!!" Aichi grabbed hold of him, trying not to let him
start any fights

"First come- first serves"

Kamui's face turned red

"Umm Kamui! You can take my seat if you want!"

Kamui had a disgusted look on his face, he can't help it.

Everyone was in the bus sadly Aichi was in the middle seat
between cold hearted Toshiki and the angered Kamui, Aichi felt utterly
uncomfortable between them

 "Here we go! To the
nationals!"

Misaki pointed to the left

"Go left"

Shin drove the bus to the right

 "LEFT LEFT!"

Shin drove the bus to the right direction, speeding

 "Does the manager
have a licence??"

Misaki shook her head; Aichi clanged onto Kamui, since
holding onto Toshiki would be a very unlikely chance.

They finally reached to the Nationals; it was pact full of
challengers waiting to join, as they got off and Shin driving the bus to a
parking space Aichi had that same headache again, the same one when he, Kamui
and Misaki went to PSY, after Kourin and Ren were duelling

"Are you ok?"

He only just barely heard Misaki's voice, Aichi nodded it
off

"-yeah..."

Aichi's headache slowly disappeared

"Come to think of it, where are Reiji and Eiji?"

"Oh no! Don't tell me that they took the wrong train!"

"That would be unlikely Kamui"

"Alright! Let's get moving!"

"Wait Kamui!"

Kamui ran into one of the visitors, his knee was scratched
slightly

"Are you ok?"

"Do I look ok to you?"

Aichi and the rest all caught up the chestnut haired girl
and a bulky man all knelt down checking on him

"I'm so sorry!"

"Umm... I should be sorry its fin-"

"The poor kid! Are you hurt?"

"IM NOT A KID! And… it's not a big-"

"Oh you're hurt! I'll get a band-aid"

Toshiki went to check on the raucous

 "What's going on?"

 He sounded like he
didn't really care, the convocation still continued

"No really! It's fine!"

"There you go! All done!"

Kamui stared at the band-aid; his sore went better

"Koutei! You should apologise!"

"But I did-"

"Now!"

"Ok ok! Sorry!"

Misaki took a short look at the book on the floor; she
passed it to Koutei

 "Oh that's mine!
Thank you!"

The girls from Ultra rare watched though the window, keeping
an eye on Aichi and friends

"So was this fate to meet them just like last time?"

"No... This is just a coin incidence"

"Fate… or coin incidence, we may never know until we watch
the match"

Suiko leaves after her last word to the girls, after she
watched Q4 and the other team move to a new spot.

"How about we introduce ourselves!
I'm the leader of the group, Kenji Mitsusada"

"I'm Yuri Usui"

"And I'm her younger brother, Gai Usui"

"And we are... TEAM CAESAR!"

Misaki took a few seconds of thought

"Kenji? But didn't you call him 'Koutei' just a minute ago?"

"Yeah! The alternative kanji readings of Mitsusada,
'Koutei'"

"Oh so that's why your team is called 'Caesar'"

Yuri warned them silently not to listen

"Caesar was the title of the Roman emperor, the origan of
that name is Gaius Julius Caesar, who was-"

"Ok! That's enough! You're overdoing it!"

"And I was getting to the good part, you know, Octavius-"

Yuri gave a frightening glare at Kenji, he shivered in fear

"Sorry!"

"Kourin! ~~"

"Morikawa!?!"

 Miwa and Izaki felt
awkward being near Morikawa

"Hehe hehe now my Tournament limited addition collectibles
are now complete achieved what I was set out for!"

"Good for you…."

"You were suppose to cheer on for Q4 by the way"

"Oh hi Aichi! I'm here!"

Aichi felt uncomfortable when Morikawa noticed him

"Somehow you make me slacks when you're around Lose-umi"

Misaki faked a cough to correct him, even though she didn't
want to anyways

"Relax….."<o></o>

"Relax, that's
what I said.., didn't I?"

"Sure you did…."

Aichi had a strange feeling, as if he forgot something... or
someone...

"Come the think of it, where's the manager?"

Misaki and Kamui pretended that they heard that.

Why Toshiki?

After Ultra rare sang to the audience Morikawa was cheering
on Kourin as always, Toshiki wasn't enjoying the day, and he seemed too quiet
today

"Nonsense..."

Instantly Morikawa heard him

"YOU JUST SAID "NONSENSE' YOU LITTLE PIECE OF-"

"Nobody said that Morikawa!"

Miwa was silently giggling to himself

"Oh, I have a feeling he DID say that… hehe this guy's a
riot!"

Something struck to them, the fact that there are 4 of them
duelling, since they need 3 people per team, this could be a problem….

Both teams begin to talk about 'strategies' it wasn't a good
subject to start with...

"We don't use a 'strategy' its simple; the weakest leaves,
that's all"

Aichi felt really bad for himself, he always thought that he
was the weakest of the group, Kamui wasn't happy about this

"Toshiki!"

"What?"

"Have you ever wondered how OTHERS feel?!?"

Kenji and his team didn't want a fight to start; they tried
to calm them down

"C'mon guys! This is not the time!"

"Butt out of this! this is OUR problem, its non of your
business!"

"Problem? That's right… it IS a problem!"

Aichi felt left out, he felt hopeless, and so he had to do
something, to keep the group together

"Wait! I'll leave this time, Misaki missed out last time,
and since the weakest person needs to leave…. That would be me…"

"Brother…."

"Then it's settled, Aichi leaves"

Kamui was horridly disgusted to what Toshiki said! It was to
the point, that Kamui couldn't take Toshiki much longer.

"I CANT STAND THIS NO MORE! Aichi…. I really like you guys…
but I can't stay with Toshiki like this anymore… I'm sorry!"

Kamui ran off

"Kamui!"

Aichi is officially suspicious of Toshiki Kai<o></o>

Aichi looked up at the board, the 4 teams of block A were;
Team Q4, Team Jurassic Army, Team Muscle Brain, and Team FFAL4.

"Team FFAL4…."

"Team Foo Fighter AL4... they're last year's Champions!"

"Certainly we have met the leader of that team at PSY,
didn't we?"

Aichi remembered Ren Suzagamori's evil expressions that
crossed his whole face, he was a mystery, and then it got to him! The person he
saw in his dream was… Ren!

"Oh! Ren Suzagamori you mean?"

Toshiki was surprised to hear Aichi talk about something
that seemed to get his attention, he listened carefully.

"He was really strong!"

Toshiki seemed a little worried for once, was he worried
about Aichi who met Ren by fate?

Aichi looked at block B, Team Caesar was in that block, He
felt relief

"Team Caesar is in another block…"

Kenji turned to look at Aichi; he gave him a smile and led
his group to the battlefield, without a word

"That's quite strange... Ren isn't here…."

What caught Aichi's attention was Toshiki…

"Tetsu…."

"Long time- no see, Toshiki"

Tetsu was a tall scary looking man; he was someone not to
mess with!

"Oi! Tetsu! what's going on there?"

The silver haired kid looked creepy too, not like Tetsu, a
blue haired lady also accompanied team FFAL4, and she looked like an older
sister of Aichi

"Fine ill answer your question, you want to know why Ren
isn't here? It's because he wouldn't waste his time at the Prelimitry round,
you should know that by now!"

"You should also know that Ren is playing 2 other teams
too!"

Aichi was confused, Toshiki knew Ren? Who is this Tetsu guy?
Who are the 2 other members of FFAL4? And what is Ren planning on by working
with 2 teams?

"If you really want to meet Ren, you'd have to get to the
final, that's IF you make it there!"

"Toshiki! You already met Ren before?"

Toshiki took his attention to Aichi

"This has nothing to do with you Aichi!"

He was right; Aichi was butting in on someone's conversation

"You heard, didn't you? I don't remember what happened back
then".

Writers note:  next
Chapter I plan to make will cover the rest of ep27 to 28, also you realised
that the preview picture is different, sorry! I feel like an idiot

Also I changed the format, this time I separated the
talking.

Ps: Episode 27 was surprising, the fact that it was a
complete Plot episode just urging for you to watch more….
